1And the borders of the tribe of Juda according to their families were from the borders of Idumea from the wilderness of Sin, as far as Cades southward.
1The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.
2And their borders were from the south as far as a part of the salt sea from the high country that extends southward.
2Their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward;
3And they proceed before the ascent of Acrabin, and go out round Sena, and go up from the south to Cades Barne; and go out to Asoron, and proceed up to Sarada, and go out by the way that is west of Cades.
3and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barnea, and passed along by Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karka;
4And they go out to Selmona, and issue at the valley of Egypt; and the termination of its boundaries shall be at the sea: these are their boundaries southward.
4and it passed along to Azmon, went out at the brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.
5And their boundaries eastward [are] all the salt sea as far as Jordan; and their borders from the north, and from the border of the sea, and from part of Jordan—
5The east border was the Salt Sea, even to the end of the Jordan. The border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan.
6the borders go up to Bæthaglaam, and they go along from the north to Bætharaba, and the borders go on up to the stone of Bæon the son of Ruben.
6The border went up to Beth Hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
7And the borders continue on to the fourth part of the valley of Achor, and go down to Galgal, which is before the approach of Adammin, which is southward in the valley, and terminate at the water of the fountain of the sun; and their going forth shall be the fountain of Rogel.
7The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that faces the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river. The border passed along to the waters of En Shemesh, and ended at En Rogel.
8And the borders go up to the valley of Ennom, behind Jebus southward; this is Jerusalem: and the borders terminate at the top of the mountain, which is before the valley of Ennom toward the sea, which is by the side of the land of Raphain northward.
8The border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite (also called Jerusalem) southward; and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the farthest part of the valley of Rephaim northward.
9And the border [going forth] from the top of the mountain terminates at the fountain of the water of Naphtho, and terminates at mount Ephron; and the border will lead to Baal; this is the city of Jarim.
9The border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (also called Kiriath Jearim);
10And the border will go round from Baal to the sea, and will go on to the mount of Assar behind the city of Jarin northwards; this is Chaslon: and it will come down to the city of the Sun, and will go on to the south.
10and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim (also called Chesalon) on the north, and went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;
11And the border terminates behind Accaron northward, and the borders will terminate at Socchoth, and the borders will go on to the south, and will terminate at Lebna, and the issue of the borders will be at the sea; and their borders [shall be] toward the sea, the great sea shall be the boundary.
11and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12These [are] the borders of the children of Juda round about according to their families.
12The west border was to the shore of the great sea. This is the border of the children of Judah according to their families.
13And to Chaleb the son of Jephone he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Juda by the command of God; and Joshua gave him the city of Arboc the metropolis of Enac; this is Chebron.
13He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (also called Hebron).
14And Chaleb the son of Jephone destroyed thence the three sons of Enac, Susi, and Tholami, and Achima.
14Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15And Chaleb went up thence to the inhabitants of Dabir; and the name of Dabir before was the city of Letters.
15He went up against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir before was Kiriath Sepher.
16And Chaleb said, Whosoever shall take and destroy the city of Letters, and master it, to him will I give my daughter Ascha to wife.
16Caleb said, “He who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it, to him I will give Achsah my daughter as wife.”
17And Gothoniel the son of Chenez the brother of Chaleb took it; and he gave him Ascha his daughter to wife.
17Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
18And it came to pass as she went out that she counselled him, saying, I will ask of my father a field; and she cried from off her ass; and Chaleb said to her, What is it?
18When she came, she had him ask her father for a field. She got off her donkey, and Caleb said, “What do you want?”
19And she said to him, Give me a blessing, for thou hast set me in the land of Nageb; give me Botthanis: and he gave her Gonæthla the upper, and Gonæthla the lower .
19She said, “Give me a blessing. Because you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.
20This [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Juda.
20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21And their cities were cities belonging to the tribe of the children of Juda on the borders of Edom by the wilderness, and Bæseleel, and Ara, and Asor,
21The farthest cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,
22and Icam, and Regma, and Aruel,
22Kinah, Dimonah, Adadah,
23and Cades, and Asorionain, and Mænam,
23Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,
24and Balmænan, and their villages,
24Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,
25and the cities of Aseron, this [is] Asor,
25Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth Hezron (also called Hazor),
26and Sen, and Salmaa, and Molada,
26Amam, Shema, Moladah,
27and Seri, and Bæphalath,
27Hazar Gaddah, Heshmon, Beth Pelet,
28and Cholaseola, and Beersabee; and their villages, and their hamlets,

61In the wilderness, Beth Arabah, Middin, Secacah,
62and Æochioza, and Naphlazon, and the cities of Sadon, and Ancades; seven cities, and their villages.
62Nibshan, the City of Salt, and En Gedi; six cities with their villages.
63And the Jebusite dwelt in Jerusalem, and the children of Juda could not destroy them ; and the Jebusites dwelt in Jerusalem to this day.
63As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah couldn’t drive them out; but the Jebusites live with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.
1And the borders of the children of Joseph were from Jordan by Jericho eastward; and they will go up from Jericho to the hill country, to the wilderness, to Bæthel Luza.
1The lot came out for the children of Joseph from the Jordan at Jericho, at the waters of Jericho on the east, even the wilderness, going up from Jericho through the hill country to Bethel.
2And they will go out to Bæthel, and will proceed to the borders of Achatarothi.
2It went out from Bethel to Luz, and passed along to the border of the Archites to Ataroth;
3And they will go across to the sea to the borders of Aptalim, as far as the borders of Bæthoron the lower, and the going forth of them shall be to the sea.
3and it went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, to the border of Beth Horon the lower, and on to Gezer; and ended at the sea.
4And the sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasse, took their inheritance.
4The children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
5And the borders of the children of Ephraim were according to their families, and the borders of their inheritance were eastward to Ataroth , and Eroc as far as Bæthoron the upper, and Gazara.
5This was the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families. The border of their inheritance eastward was Ataroth Addar, to Beth Horon the upper.
6And the borders will proceed to the sea to Icasmon north of Therma; they will go round eastward to Thenasa, and Selles, and will pass on eastward to Janoca,
6The border went out westward at Michmethath on the north. The border turned about eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed along it on the east of Janoah.
7and to Macho, and Ataroth, and [these are] their villages; and they will come to Jericho, and will issue at Jordan.
7It went down from Janoah to Ataroth, to Naarah, reached to Jericho, and went out at the Jordan.
8And the borders will proceed from Tapho to the sea to Chelcana; and their termination will be at the sea; this [is] the inheritance of the tribe of Ephraim according to their families.
8From Tappuah the border went along westward to the brook of Kanah; and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim according to their families;
9And the cities separated to the sons of Ephraim [were] in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasse, all the cities and their villages.
9together with the cities which were set apart for the children of Ephraim in the middle of the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
10And Ephraim did not destroy the Chananite who dwelt in Gazer; and the Chananite dwelt in Ephraim until this day, until Pharao the king of Egypt went up and took it, and burnt it with fire; and the Chananites, and Pherezites, and the dwellers in Gaza they destroyed, and Pharao gave them for a dowry to his daughter.
10They didn’t drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the territory of Ephraim to this day, and have become servants to do forced labor.
